The Giga Tourbillon, an exceptional timepiece from the House of Franck Muller, illustrates the expertise of its research and development team. As the name suggests, it bears the world’s largest tourbillon. A sheer technical marvel powered by four barrels, it embraces a 20 mm diameter tourbillon on the dial that occupies almost half of the watch.
Evolving from this colossal tourbillon, the new ‘Alcatraz’ collection evokes the same reverence. Marked with a robust diamond-studded cage structure, it further boosts the brilliance of the Giga Tourbillon.
Another special feature is that this exceptional movement has been reversed in order to make it even more striking. Its bridges are placed on the dial side, the hour setting and winding section located at the base and the hour hand is uniquely positioned on the minute hand. The skeletonized version that combines aesthetics with rigidity reveals a high technical finesse and perfectly balanced styling. Glimpses of the movement sieves through the striking cage placed above. Available in an 18 carat gold case, it is also seen in a simple nonskeletonized version.
