Adriatica Watches : Brand Profile, History and Products

The History of Adria & Adriatica as a trade mark for equally beautiful quality Swiss Watches is closely associated with the latter period through a Swiss Watch Company, established in 1852 in Montilier, close to Morat / Murten, at the foot of the Watch Valley. It has not yet been clearly established as from when it started dedicating watches of their brands to the enchanted area, but it is generally admitted that it was at some time earlier than 1931. During and after World War 2, the brand remained dormant.

But as early as 1962, an associated company, established in Biel / Bienne & Basel, started again the manufacturing of Adria & Adriatica watches. Both brands, but mainly Adriatica flourished in the Scandinavian countries, especially in Finland. Adriatica watches started being imported discreetly into Poland by seafaring people and distributed there and in many of the other then “communists” countries by Swiss Watches loving connoisseurs, building the base of today’s success of the brand in the Eastern part of Europe.

In 1989 Fluri family decided to revive the beautiful brand Adriatica from its glorious Swiss Made past. Since 1999 Adriatica watches are being manufactured in their own watch company in Dongio, in the watch making area of Ticino.Adriatica concentrates in gold, gold-plated, PVD plated, titanium and steel watch case, steel band or flawless leather straps, sapphire, mineral or hard glass and automatic version, containing high quality of movements such as Ronda, Eta, Isa, Claro.
