Swiss watch maker ALPINA Genève is the "Official Timekeeper" during the first sleeve of the “Trophée Andros 2009”, on the ice circuit of Val Thorens (French Alps). The “Trophée Andros”, mythical event and unique concept of races on ice, is a famous competition, which provides spectacle, but also friendliness, and imposes today as a leading discipline of the international motor sport. Created in 1992 by Max Mamers, professional former pilot, the 2009 edition will be played in 7 events, planed between December 2008 and January 2009 on the different circuits of French and Andorran Ski resorts. To celebrate the 20th edition of the “Trophée Andros”,ALPINA presents a special created model: the ALPINA Extreme "Trophée Andros 2009 – 20ème édition".

This watch perfectly translates the philosophy of the ALPINA brand, but replies also to the requirements of the hardened pilots of the discipline: a very high precision, an extreme legibility and a big resistance to the shocks. With a diameter of 48 mm, this case in black PVD steel with an athletic design associated to the comfort of the natural rubber strap perfectly puts in value the dial of this special edition: turn blue big figures into the four corners of the dial to illustrate the ice on which evolve the pilots, and a carbon touch recalling them the colors of the famous flag to checkerboard. The motor, an automatic Swiss movement manufactured in the workshops of ALPINA Genève, indicates the hour with a perfect exactness as well as the date.

Event supported by the “heart’s godmother” Cécile of Ménibus, famous TV presenter in the French Television, and herself really fascinated by the extreme motor sports, the big names of the motor sports as Alain Prost or Olivier Panis, as well as French celebrities Jean-Pierre Pernaud and his wife Nathalie Marquet, all were this weekend on the starting grid.Every winner in his category will receive this special edition at the end of the last Final on next January 31st, 2009 on the circuit of Super Besse, close to Clermont-Ferrand .
