Baume & Mercier -Classima Executives L retro

Retro styling is perfectly suited to Baume & Mercier watches and judging by the success of the first Classima Executives retro launched 2005 in celebration of the brand’s 175th anniversary, it would be hard to say the contrary! To carry on in this creative direction, the Baume & Mercier design studio has imagined two new Classima Executives L retro models, of even greater originality. A strong desire to enhance the design of small watchmaking complications has contributed to the elaboration of two pieces featuring noble aesthetics and technical quality. Two very singular watches with a shared vintage spirit.

1.Classima Executives L retro (MOA08695)
The Classima Executives L retro (MOA08695)* displays the perfect balance of touches of retro inspiration and a resolutely contemporary allure. It houses a self-winding Dubois Dépraz mechanical movement and a small watchmaking complication: a regulator. This function first appeared in the XVIIth century and is considered to be the most accurate time instrument, by enabling the hours, minutes and seconds to be read separately. In addition to its technical watchmaking attributes, the regulator with its individual counters makes an important contribution to the watch’s retro look and the dial’s distinctive design. Of course, the over-sized crown and generously cambered crystal, so typical of the watches of the 50’s, have not been forgotten. The finesse of detail of the silvered Opalin dial combined with a beveled flange confers the entire watch with its very own yesteryear elegance. This Classima Executives L highlights all the characteristics of ideal proportions; the center of the case back is engraved with the Greek letter Phi, the golden rectangle (rectangle whose length and width ratio is equal to the golden number: 1.618) and the infinite decimal numerals of the golden number that are inscribed along the outer edge. A dash of refinement for an exceptional timepiece.

This Classima Executives L retro red gold (MOA08690)** reflects a skillful dose of vintage styling and technical watchmaking characteristics. Its automatic Dubois Dépraz movement is doted with a jumping hour complication and confers retro appeal to the dial with an aperture at 12 o’clock and a minute counter. The combination of red gold and a black satin-finished sun décor dial sublimates the watch’s overall art-deco charm.
An exceptional piece in every way, the sapphire crystal case back reveals the entire watch movement. And that’s not all; the sapphire crystal comes engraved with the brand’s emblem – the Greek letter Phi and its golden number.
